Exchanged it for the same thing, the second one was broken right out of the box. I gave up after that. There are plenty of 1 TB external hard drives at this price, and most any of them are better than this. Unless you want a really pretty box to sit on your desk and do nothing.

Re: 1 TB LaCie Hard Disk, Design by Neil Poulton

Does it have to be horizontal or can it be vertical?

Re: 1 TB LaCie Hard Disk, Design by Neil Poulton

Shoe Shop : Buy shoes online from UK shoe shop Shudoo.

Re: 1 TB LaCie Hard Disk, Design by Neil Poulton

wow

Re: 1 TB LaCie Hard Disk, Design by Neil Poulton

I'm totally inlove with this drive.. It will be more efficient.

I recommend the Buffalo Linkstation Mini.

Re: 1 TB LaCie Hard Disk, Design by Neil Poulton

This drive sucks for continuous use. It looks good. It's not that quiet for one, and two, It will unexpectedly unmount itself and just sit there spinning and thinking about nothing. I'm using it to store my 400GB iTunes music library. It just can't handle it. I exchanged the first one I bought thinking it may have been a faulty unit, but the same model replacement it acting the same way. Not worth it. Maybe it would be fine to store movies or photos on, but not continuous music play, from a large library.
