  • I tried to play a DVD of La Boheme and my tv & DVD player said "Wrong Region". The Region Code of the DVD is 0 (Worldwide). It is from La Scala in Milan. It would not play on my DVD or my parents. Is there something I can change on the DVD player to make it play?
  • you are using an European code, this player only play Pal and NTSC. Pal is the system for Asia region, NTSC for USA
  • PAL is Europe. Not Asia. I am from Europe...
  • I have seen this region code hack for this machine but have not tried it personally: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks?dvdplayer=Phi...
  • Does this come with an HDMI cable or do you need to buy one separately?
  • Snydercom, it does not come with an HDMI cable.
  • We don't have any table space left.
Dont want to store a DVD vertically.
Can this unit physically support a 50 lb TV set sitting on top of it?
  • rsm, I would strongly suggest that you do not place a 50lb television on top of this, or any dvd player for that matter.
  • On Amazon, this box already comes Region Free. Does J&R not provide instructions to enable this to be Region Free? I bought an earlier model and they did for that one.
  • Steve, I just spoke to someone and according to him, there is a hack that makes it region free.

    The hack is as follows:

Hold the Stop key on the remote to Open the DVD tray
    press Setup
    select Preference
    Press 1,3,8,9,3,1
Press up/down key to select "0

Remember! The tray MUST be open in order for the Preferences menu to show up on Setup.

    Hope this helps.
  • It definitely does and I appreciate your quick response.

I will be along this afternoon to pick on of these up!
  • When I use HDMI output i do not get aduio, if I use RCA input then I hear the audio, please advise what to do.
  • This works with 230V?
