    Jack Ingram left his "Beat-Up Ford Band" in Texas but brought his beat-up Taylor guitar and performed a Billy Joe Shaver song and three of his own, including "Wherever You Are", currently number 11 on Billboard's Country Singles Chart. Bringing the denim look and wide sky images of West Texas, Jack personably joked with the appreciative audience, "it's a lot different coming to New York to open for Sheryl Crow than to come up here to play an in-store, but I'm glad to be here playing music for ya'll". Jack commendably honored his scheduled J&R; appearance even though his joint concert with Sheryl was postponed to June. I was glad to have this taste of Country in the middle of a downtown workday.</img>
