I have a jawboone and i am very pleased of the clarity but i cannot keep it in my ear,it keeps on pupping out ,I have tried all the different hooks for my ear but nothing fits,I am very disappointed that with the prize I was at all satisfied

    Dear Joy,

I too had the same problem with mine (or so I thought).

Here's how I fixed the problem:

    1. First, instead of bending the upper part of my ear to put on the hook, I slid it on from the top of my ear in a backward rotational movement so that the tip of the rubber covering on the hook slid around in a semi-circle, from my ear-top down to the back of my ear. In doing this, you should ensure that the round rubber ear-piece is firmly pivoted in your ear when you rotate the device.

    2. when you finish the rotation, the headset will be pointing not perpendicularly downward but slightly forward as if it is aiming for your toes.

    3. If you're doing this correctly, you should ordinarily be able to use more than one type of the hooks satisfactority.

All of this may sound complicated, but soon you'll be doing it involuntarily.

    Good luck

    I love this headset!

I had the same problem with the rubber ear piece popping out. It was made doubly bothersome because the silicon jawbone tip would not make contact with my cheek making the noise-cancellation work against me.

To fix the problem i had to take two steps.

    1. follow the advise above and rotate the earpiece from top to bottom to put it on.

    2. Try some of the other rubber ear pieces on. I found the semi-triangular one the best fit. It stays in my ear without any trouble.

I wouldn't trade this bluetooth set for any other!!

I LOVE MY JAWBONE!! I've tried many, even the blueant z9 and nothing sounds as good as the jawbone. Now, all this said I hated the ear piece, the loop and the part that goes in the
ear. EASY SOLUTION...go to a place where they make hearing aids and tell them you want them to make an impression of your ear and make you an ear piece for your jawbone. I did it on Monday and got my new ear piece on Wed. (them make them on site) and now I can wear my jawbone with NO hooks and I now have to turn my volume WAYYYY down because I can hear so well through my new ear piece. IT ROCKS!!! I can even exercise with it on....and the best thing it only cost $45....
I hope this helps all of you out there in pain with this ear piece and over the ear hanger...

    Hi,

Maybe some one could help me with the Jawbone that all of you are talking about.

With already having problems with my hearing as it is, I have read what all of you wrote and am hesitant in regards to purchasing the Jawbone. I need two (2) of them.

It sounds complicated. Setting the ear piece in so that it will not only stay in the ear but also having it fit comfortably. I do not want to be driving and having to fix it and move it around etc. Or... am I asking for the impossible?

Thanks everyone. Any info would help me.

Should have added this in with my other post.

If this JAWBONE is that "great", than why would we need a guarantee on it?

When you guys bought the jawbone, did you also purchase this as well?

    Thanks again-

I should have typed warranty, not guarantee.

But you cannot go back and edit any info after you have submitted your comment.

Maybe I am one of those who has never had much success with things like this placed in my ears, but many of our customers sure seem to like these Jawbone devices. We suggest you give it a try and if it does not fit the bill, then we would consider taking it back from you.

If you have any questions, please give us a call at 1(800)221-8180 and we'll be delighted to answer them.

    Jimmy,

I am confused about your post. As with this statement that you said, "We suggest you give it a try and if it does not fit the bill, then we would consider taking it back from you."

I would like to have you respond so that I may understand the statement you made.

    Thanks

    Hi, Karyn.

Sorry. I surely didn't intend to be so obtuse.

You might remember the old ad campaign, "Try it, you'll like it"? Well, that's what I meant. If you buy this and it is absolutely wonderful, terrific. If not, then we'll take it back from you. We have a 30 day return policy that favorably compares with any out there.

I hope this answers your question. ;-))

    Jimmy,
Thank you for your quick response, I really appreciate it. I do have one more question though. JR is having a three day sale on the JAWBONE, ,which I wanted to order two of them. However, when I went to only order one instead of the sale price for $74.00, it's now $89.00.
Can you explain this to me? After all, it sounds as though you work for them. Am I correct in assuming that?

Thank you and have a good day!

My wife and I both have RAZR V3 phones and I just ordered a Jawbone fro myself. As luck would have it, her bluetooth is acting up now. I would like to order her a Jawbone too but do not know if the two Jabones connected to similar phones will casue any issues such as cross-talk, or my Jabone answering her phone etc. Can anyone enlighten me?

    Hi, Greg!

I have been given to understand by one of our more experienced managers that so long as you set up 2 different user names, there should be no issue.

I notice that on some of the sites that sell the Aliph Jawbone, the Bluetooth technology version is listed as 1.1 or 1.2. The person I talked to on the phone at Aliph said that the company is now shipping Jawbones with Bluetooth 2.0 technology. If I order a Jawbone from an online retailer, how can I determine if the Bluetooth technology is version 2.0 or not? Obviously a Bluetooth 2.0 phone would be backward compatible with a Bluetooth 1.1 or 1.2 headset. But I want to make sure that I get a Bluetooth 2.0 headset. Many of the Bluetooth headset brands state definitively that they are bluetooth 2.0, but I haven't seen any online retailers for the Aliph Jawbone that state that these are Bluetooth 2.0 technology headsets.

Hey Greg, each headset is paired with a phone. As long as you don't pair both of your headsets to the same phone you won't have any cross talk issues. You may also decide to "trust" the headset when you pair it to your phone to avoid having to approve the connection each time you turn your Jawbone on.

I am on my second Jawbone after learning that they won't survive a trip throught the washing machine and find it to be the best headset I've ever used.

    Good luck, Alan

I love the Jawbone headset I just purchased...but I cannot, fo rthe life of me, get it to pass along verbal communication. It paired fine, I hear everything fine, but nothing transmits out. I reset the unit, I re-paired it (paired it again)...still nothing... any ideas? thanks

My son sent me a JawBone but he has misplaced the instruction manual. Any suggestions as how to obtain ?
  • Jimmy · 1 year ago
OK, easy question first... Here's a link to download the manual. It is 17 pages so please be aware that we here at J&R sell toner. ;-))

    Link for the manual:

    http://www.jawbone.com/support_usermanual_us.php

Second question, here's a link to Jawbone Support. Unfortunately, they do not seem to have live support, just email. Try to contact them if your question is not answered in the manual or in their FAQ's. Failing that, if you are within 30 days of purchase from us, we can take it back from you for an exchange.

I am looking at getting the Jawbone Bluetooth. Is it guaranteed to be compatible with all bluetooth cell phones?
  • Jimmy · 1 year ago
Not to worry. This will work with any Bluetooth phone. ;-))

Love the look of the new, smaller Jawbone Walt Mossberg recommends today in the Journal. When will you have that in stock?
  • Don Elliot · 1 year ago
I had one of these but it was not loud enough for me so gave it to a friend. We both felt it was not very loud. Are the new versions any better? I am talking about louness on RECEIVE (in MY ear) and not the outgoing audio level. Thanks... And do you have the new one in stock yet? How much?

Hi, I just bought the jawbone original and the ear piece is too big for my ear. It just keeps falling off and I am not sure what to do. I try slidding it aroundmy ear but that does not help either. I feel my ear is to small for any of the ear pieces, is there another ear piece I can use or somehting to secure it more to my ear when I wear it? It is anoying when you are driving and your ear piece slides off your ear!
  • Atane · 1 year ago
Kristen, Aliph released the Jawbone 2 not long ago. It's smaller than the original Jawbone. Perhaps the Jawbone 2 might be a better solution for you.
