My experience with various Lumixs hasn't been too good, especially in areas of battery life and night shots.

I has TZ5 about two weeks. This is the amazing camera. I have been fan of
Nikon FA for 20 years. Digital took over. { about the above video}
The saleman did not present the marvelous Panasonic product to customers.
Even just IA feather enough convince customer to buy TZ5 28 to 280 zoom.
Starry sky mode is manual mode.

I love the camera, but what a sloppy, uninformative presentation! I can't believe this is the quality of sales rep Panasonic would send to a major retailer like J&R. I also can't believe J&R would post such a time-wasting video.

I have had the TZ5 for a few weeks and am still working on getting around the variables and settings. The camera is no doubt one of the most Hi-tec cameras I have ever owned. My last purchase was the Sony H1 which is a nice camera but much larger. I guess I would say the DMC TZ5 fits the need for a more compact camera that I can carry in a small hard case and it will be ready to shoot at the slightest provocation. I love it for that and it has enough toys on it to keep me out of trouble for several months.
The screen is bright and big. The movies are sharp and with zoom. The little strap that comes with it works good. Get it online for under 270 $.
O and the PC software is lousy.
