blog.jr.com: USB Turntable Lets You Back Up Your LPs

  • Larry · 1 year ago
Just don't see the need for this. Free software is available for this for use on a standard turntable. Plus, you can choose your digital resolution of your archived recording, and take out those scratches and noise. Then, you can convert to the lower resolution CD or MP3 file formats. Who needs this???

I found this turntable to be a life-saver for me. With a large collection of LPs, mostly classical, collected over a 50 year period. I find that a very large percentage of them are not being released on CD. I enjoy listening to them but don't wish to wear them out, so being able to transcribe them to CD myself, for my own pleasure, has been a real joy. Also I find it harder to find replacement parts, needles etc. for my old turntables. They seem to be fast dying out, going the way of the reel-to-reel tape recorders and Beta and VHS video tape technology.
